Car shoppers who log onto CARFAX.com will be able to locate used cars and trucks in their area that have already been checked through our exclusive database. Every used vehicle listed in CARFAX Certified Cars comes with the CARFAX $5,000 Certified History Guarantee. Each listing will also include a free CARFAX Vehicle History Report to confirm the clean title history and let consumers see the complete history of the car they're considering. CARFAX works with more than 19,000 dealers around the country and we expect a majority of them to list their available inventory with CARFAX Certified Cars.

How do I use CARFAX Certified Cars to find a car or truck?

Simply log onto CARFAX.com and enter the CARFAX Certified Cars section of our website. You will be able to find vehicles according to the criteria that are most important to you. You can tell the search engine to show you cars of a certain make, model and year. You can ask to see every car within a specified distance from your ZIP code. You'll even be able to tell the computer to show you every SUV, sedan, convertible or minivan in the database. Or any combination of the above. And, in addition to the vehicle history information provided by CARFAX, you will be able to see additional information about the car like price, color and current mileage. When you find the car or cars you're interested in seeing you can contact the seller by phone, fax or email. You can even print out a map and drive on over for a test drive.

How much does it cost to use?

The entire service, including the CARFAX Certified History Guarantee worth $5,000 and the free CARFAX Vehicle History report (which normally costs $14.99), is free. What do I do if a dealer does not get back to me?

After you identify a car or truck and contact the dealer it is the responsibility of the dealer to respond. We recommend that you try multiple methods of contacting the listing dealer. For example, if you initially emailed the dealership and have not received a reply, try and call them.

Will a dealer know that I've looked at their car?

While CARFAX will let participating dealers know how many people have looked at the vehicles they've listed in CARFAX Certified Cars, we will never share your personal identifying information with a third-party. CARFAX has a comprehensive privacy policy and we are committed to protecting your personal information.

How does CARFAX Certified Cars differ from other online listing services?
